in my mid-40s! It takes will power to do anything, and even more will power to stick at it, through all its ups and downs. Despite the odd thought otherwise, I can't see myself giving up what I have work-wise, where I am, anytime soon!
I'm kind-of searching for the right words to use here, without saying anything too "bad". I got into bus driving as a regular job after many years as a "Bus Enthusiast" – i. e a person who just like buses and riding them. I learned different makes and models of buses over many years and ultimately learned to drive them, obtaining the necessary license through the relevant tests and authorities. My intention was to be able to have the odd drive of buses I liked. Within days of getting my Heavy Vehicle license, having been passed as fully competent by the relevant government body, I had a job driving buses I liked on party hirings. This didn't seem too bad initially, and I quickly progressed to weekday school sports work. The area I was working in was one I'd known as a kid, so all was pretty good. I re-learned the local area and a variety of sports venues and schools. However, as time went on I soon realized that there was good and bad to all this… I learned that whilst the money can be nice, the ultimate responsibility for the safety of all onboard is YOURS!
